REQUIREMENTS

A Windows desktop with Windows PowerShell and .NET Framework 4.x available. The app supports 32-bit and 64-bit Windows.

INSTALL

1. Run Float-Setup.exe.
2. Choose whether to add a desktop shortcut.
3. Float installs for your Windows account under LocalAppData and adds a Start menu shortcut. Administrator access is not required.
4. Uninstall from Windows Settings > Apps, or run the installed Float-Setup.exe and choose Uninstall.

PORTABLE USE

Run Float.exe directly. It does not need an installer.

USING FLOAT

Choose a visible application window in the Write tab. The list refreshes when the tab opens; use Refresh list to update it manually. Nothing is selected automatically. Enter or paste your text, select a typing pace, then start the countdown. Click inside the destination text area before the countdown ends.

Float stops if the destination closes or focus moves to another app. You can also stop typing from Float. The destination app must accept Unicode keyboard input. Use your Windows keyboard layout or IME for the text you enter.

The Settings tab controls the editor and history preview font. These font settings do not change formatting in the destination app. The History tab can hold up to 50 recent items for the current session.

PRIVACY

Float does not monitor the clipboard. Clipboard text enters History only when you choose Add clipboard. Typed text and items you add are held in memory for the current session and cleared when Float closes. The portable launcher extracts the embedded app script to a temporary folder while Float is open and removes that folder when it exits.

TRUST

The supplied executables are not digitally signed. Windows may show a trust or reputation warning when they are downloaded.
